Time Stretching an Audio Signal

This project demonstrates time stretching of an audio signal, that is, altering the playback speed of the signal without affecting its pitch. The demonstration uses Speech Filing System (SFS), open-source software, specifically designed for speech research. The SFS utility program respeed implements the SOLA algorithm by Roucos and Wilgus and was used for this project. A complete description of this algorithm can be found in "High quality time-scale modification for speech", IEEE International Conference on Accoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing - ICASSP, 1985.
