I have completed my Ph.D under Prof. K.
N. Plataniotis and Prof. A.
N. Venetsanopoulos at the Multimedia
Lab, Edward S. Rogers Sr.
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University
of Toronto. Before starting my PhD, I was with the Center
for Signal Processing (now merged into the Institute
for Infocomm Research), Singapore, as a research engineer for
two years. Currently, I am working at the Epson Toronto Lab.
My Ph.D thesis topic is on "Discriminant Learning for Face
Recognition". Kernel
machines, Support
vector machines, Adaptive
boosting, and Bayes
discriminant analysis are main techniques used in my research.
Some produced results can be found in my
publication page.
I am the
joint recipient of the 2006 IEEE Trans. on Neural Networks
Outstanding Paper Award for the paper “Face
Recognition Using Kernel Direct Discriminant Analysis Alagorithms”
by Juwei Lu, K. N. Plataniotis and A. N. Venetsanopoulos, IEEE
Trans. on Neural Networks, Vol. 14, No. 1, 2003.
